Great news! New census data shows that Tucson's bike-to-work rate is higher than it has ever been at 3.4%! That is more than 5 times the national average and a 21% increase from last year. That puts us at the 7th highest for larger cities! That is good but we can still do better. We are excited about a ton of projects in the works that will improve the connectivity of our system and make it easier for more Tucsonans to leave their cars at home and hop on a bike!

Great job PAG / Sun Rideshare! They won a national award for their creativity in promoting walking/biking/and other modes. And their infomercial involves zombies (well worth checking out!). See more below:

PAG infomercial, ad campaign win marketing award

Pima Association of Governments recently received an award for excellence in marketing and outreach for Sun Rideshare’s “Do Zombies Carpool?” infomercial and ad campaign.

The award was presented at the Association for Commuter Transportation annual conference, Aug. 3-6 in San Francisco. The international trade association is a leading advocate for commuter transportation and transportation demand management.

The infomercial and ad campaign promote alternative transportation to reduce air pollution, traffic congestion and energy consumption, and describes the many services provided by Sun Rideshare.
Employers in the PAG region use the infomercial to educate their employees about the available transportation options and the free commuter services provided. To view the infomercial visit www.sunrideshare.org.
