Downtown Weekend Events - Travel Information

Downtown Tucson will be the host of the 19th Annual Downtown Parade of Lights on Saturday, December 21, 2013. The parade will stage on 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th Streets between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. at 17th Street and Stone Avenue and proceeds Stone Avenue, turns east on Ochoa Street to Scott Avenue, then turns east on 12th Street to Sixth Avenue and ends at Sixth Avenue and 13th Street by Armory Park.

Street Bonds Road Recovery - Crack Seal Program Update

Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), is continuing its crack seal program associated with the voter-approved $100 million, five-year street bond program - Road Recovery.

The dates, work hours and locations for the next set of roadway improvements are listed below. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather.

Fourth Avenue Street Fair - Travel Information

Fourth Avenue will be the host of the annual Fourth Avenue Winter Street Fair this weekend.  The Fourth Avenue Winter Street Fair begins on Friday, December 13, 2013 and is open daily through the weekend from 10 a.m., until 6 p.m.  Attendance for the Street Fair is estimated to be approximately 300,000 people, so please adjust travel plans accordingly.  For both your safety and your pet’s safety, pets are not allowed at the Street Fair.  Parking for this event with free shuttle service is provided from either the Main Gate Square Garages (Euclid Avenue at First Str

Tucson Department of Transportation Initiates Operation Freeze

Beginning at about noon today, for approximately three hours, crews from the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) Streets and Traffic Maintenance Division will initiate Operation Freeze in preparation of freezing temperatures tonight. Operation Freeze is put into place to make sure City bridge decks are free of ice and safe for motorists to drive over.

El Tour de Tucson: Extreme Travel Delays

Downtown Tucson will be the host of the annual El Tour de Tucson start/finish line.  This event encompasses the entire region with a 107-mile bicycle ride/race with an anticipated participation of over 8,000 bicyclists.

The parade will stage on West Alameda Street between Granada Avenue and Manning House Way beginning at 9 a.m.  The parade begins at 11 a.m., and proceeds east on West Alameda Street and turns north on Church Avenue to Sixth Street/ St. Mary’s Road, proceeds west on Sixth Street/ St.

All Souls Procession - Travel Information

Downtown will be the host of the annual All Souls Procession this Sunday, November 3, 2013.  The Procession will stage in the historic Warehouse District at 6th Avenue and 7th Street beginning Sunday at 4 p.m. The procession will begin moving through downtown at approximately 6 p.m. on Sunday.
