Broadway and Church Avenue Intersectio
Outreach to project area businesses, neighborhoods, property owners, and regional users of Broadway will be important and ongoing throughout the project. Key points in the Planning & Design Phase are planned for community-wide input and agency reviews by the funding agencies of the project, as represented in this diagram:
The Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) is the lead agency on this multi-agency funded project.
The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) Plan includes project #17 as: widen Broadway to 6 travel lanes, plus 2 dedicated bus lanes; bike lanes; and sidewalks.
As part of the current Planning & Design Phase work, this project scope is being reviewed, along with other possible roadway configuration alternatives.
The City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) and The Groundskeeper are nearly 30 days into a four-month citywide clean-up of median islands and roadsides in an intense effort to remove weeds, debris and dead plants along arterial roadways with higher traffic volumes.

A message from the Houghton Road Corridor art planners:
As of July 1, 2011 all new Traffic Control Permits that require a Traffic Plan(s) were entered into the PRO (Property Research Online) Advance Search database, which make these documents retrievable online. Some permits existing prior to July 1, 2011 have been added but the whole document may not be accessible and will need to contact Traffic Engineering at 791-4259 for those copies. Permits that do not require a plan are not retrievable online at this time.
