For Memorial Day, Monday, May 27
The Memorial Day holiday will be observed on Monday, May 27, 2013. Residential and commercial trash and recycling will not be collected on Monday. All City of Tucson residential and commercial customers will have their trash and recycling service delayed by one day during the holiday week.
The Los Reales Landfill will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for self-haulers, commercial haulers, and residents who would like to drop off Household Hazardous Waste.
Holiday collection schedules are available online at www.tucsonaz.gov/esd or if you have a smart phone, download the free ‘my waste’ App to have access to all collection schedules.
City offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2013, however, customers may leave a message for Environmental Services Customer Service at 791-3171 or submit a service request at www.tucsonaz.gov/esd and they will be contacted no later than the next business day. Customer Service will be available on Saturday, June 2, 2013 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
TRANSIT SCHEDULE ON MEMORIAL DAY
Sun Tran buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2013.
The following details outline transit service on Memorial Day:
- Sun Express will not be in operation. Regular service resumes Tuesday, May 28.
- Sun Shuttle routes will not be in operation, except dial-a-ride service in Oro Valley will be offering Sunday service for ADA qualified passengers only. Regular service resumes Tuesday, May 28.
- Sun Tran Routes 1 through 99 will run on a Sunday schedule on Monday, May 27. Regular service resumes Tuesday, May 28.The Customer Service Center will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to assist passengers with trip planning needs. On Tuesday, May 28, the Customer Service Center will return to regular weekday hours of 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Downtown Loop will not be in operation Monday, May 27. Sun Van service will mirror the service provided by Sun Tran. Sun Van’s Customer Service Center will be open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Memorial Day.
Sun Tran’s Administrative Office, located at 3920 N. Sun Tran Blvd., will be closed on Monday, May 27. The Administrative Office will reopen for business on Tuesday, May 28, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
