PLAN TUCSON COMMUNITY MEETINGS
Last week Imagine Greater Tucson released its executive summary of the visioning process and community ideas on how our REGION moves forward. I hope you also know the City of Tucson is in the process of preparing our new General Plan, which is being referred to as Plan Tucson. General Plans are required by state law and Tucson’s will go to voters for approval on November 5, 2013.
Community workshops are being held this month at five different times in five different locations throughout Tucson. See the schedule below. Join us to provide your ideas and suggestions!
The workshops will include a presentation on possible ways Tucson could grow in the future, and an opportunity to share ideas about alternative growth scenarios. Provided for consideration will be draft policies to guide land use, transportation, and other City actions over the next decade developed through a series of 39 stakeholder Policy Working Groups and six public hearings that have been held over the last year.
Please RSVP as soon as possible by sending an email to plantucson@tucsonaz.gov, indicating your name, affiliation, and the date of the workshop you will be attending. This will help Plan Tucson team ensure there are sufficient materials and facilitators for workshop participants.
For questions regarding the workshop or Plan Tucson in general, please email plantucson@tucsonaz.govor call Rebecca Ruopp at (520) 837-6973. For more information on Plan Tucson, you may also visit the website at www.tucsonaz.gov/plantucson.
