The outdoor shaded recreation pool offers a variety of fitness classes, lap swim, and open swim times to enjoy the walking channel and play features in the zero-depth area.
The indoor warm water Therapy Pool provides individuals with disabilities an opportunity to experience
benefits including increased range of motion and flexibility, relief of pain due to arthritis or other conditions and overall relaxation.
About Edith Ball
Dr. Edith Ball was one of the giants in the recreation, parks and leisure services movement. She was instrumental in developing recreation programs and a pioneer in the of the specialty area of therapeutic recreation.
From 1937 to 1994 she was involved as an officer or committee chair in national, state or local recreation and park and therapeutic recreation organizations. She served on the national committee that brought together eight organizations to form the National Recreation and Park Association. Upon moving to Tucson, she taught courses at the University of Arizona and served as a member and chair of the Therapeutic Recreation Advisory Council for the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department.
