On Tuesday, October 1, 2013, beginning at 9 p.m., work crews will begin the final paving of the Grant Road and Oracle Road intersection. The paving work will take place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night through Friday morning October 4, 2013.

On Monday, October 7, 2013 through Wednesday, October 9, 2013, crews will adjust manhole covers and water valve covers flush with the new asphalt surface. The utility adjustment work will take place from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Travel restrictions will be in place for up to 24 hours to allow concrete to cure around the raised manhole and water main valve covers.

The traveling public can expect delays when driving, bicycling or walking in this work area. Business access will be maintained except for when paving equipment is in front of a driveway.  For your safety, please observe all traffic control signage, message boards, and obey reduced speed limits.  Watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work zone.

The intersection work is part of the $7.5 million RTA-funded project that will widen Grant Road to six lanes from 15th Avenue to Castro Street with median island left turn lane modifications along Oracle Road from Alturas Street south to Rillito Street.  As part of the roadway widening, the intersection of Grant Road and Oracle road will be reconstructed to provide indirect left turn intersection operations.
