On Monday, July 22, 2013 (at midnight, early Tuesday morning), the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Hunter Contracting will close Poorman Road at Houghton Road to accelerate the build-up and new construction of Poorman Road east of Houghton Road.  This work is being done to help control stormwater drainage in the area.  This work is scheduled to be complete within one week, with Poorman Road reopening at that time.

The traveling public can expect delays when driving, bicycling or walking in these work areas during these lane restrictions.  Business and residential access will be maintained to the extent possible with only short, infrequent closures when heavy equipment is directly in front of a driveway.  Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work zone.

This is a project of the Regional Transportation Authority.  The voter-approved, $2.1 billion RTA plan will be implemented through 2026.  Details about the full plan are available at www.RTAmobility.com.  The Regional Transportation Authority has a nine-member board with representatives from local, state and tribal governments.  This project will be managed by the City of Tucson.
