On Monday, August 5, 2013, at approximately 9 p.m., the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Hunter Contracting will shift traffic to the newly paved west side portion of Houghton Road between Poorman Road and Irvington Road. Crews will also connect the side streets on the east side of Houghton Road to the newly paved portion of Houghton Road.

Also, Drexel Road will remain closed for several hours.  Motorists are advised to use Seven Generations Way or Bilby Road for alternative access.

Civano Road will remain closed for approximately two months to allow crews to install large drainage pipes and trenches.  Motorists are advised to use Seven Generations Way for alternative access.

Forrest Glenn Street will remain closed until late Tuesday afternoon on August 6, 2013. Motorists are advised to use Bilby Road or Poorman Road alternative access.

The traveling public can expect delays when driving, bicycling or walking in these work areas during these lane restrictions.  Business and residential access will be maintained to the extent possible with only short, infrequent closures when heavy equipment is directly in front of a driveway.  Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work zone.

This is a project of the Regional Transportation Authority.  The voter-approved, $2.1 billion RTA plan will be implemented through 2026.  Details about the full plan are available at www.RTAmobility.com.  The Regional Transportation Authority has a nine-member board with representatives from local, state and tribal governments.  This project will be managed by the City of Tucson.
