Downtown Tucson will be the host of Ride on, Tucson! this Sunday January 20, 2013 from 1p.m. to 4 p.m. Ride on, Tucson!, is defined as an all ages bicycle party in downtown Tucson hosted by Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey, pro cyclist Tom Danielson, and Bicycling Magazine Editor-In-Chief Peter Flax. Ride on, Tucson! - Beginning Sunday, January 20, 2013, from noon until approximately 4:30 p.m., Sixth Avenue will be closed between 12th and 18th Streets; all Sixth Avenue traffic will be detoured to Fourth Avenue.

Additionally, Stone Avenue will be closed between Broadway and 17th Street, Fifth Avenue will be closed between 13th and 17th Streets, Scott Avenue will be closed south of Broadway, Convent and Meyer Avenues will be closed between Cushing Street and 19th Street, and Church Avenue will be closed at Cushing Street.

East/West streets impacted are: Ochoa, Jackson and McCormick Streets, which will be closed between Church Avenue and Scott Avenue, 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th Streets will be closed between Fourth Avenue and Stone Avenue, Cushing, Simpson, Kennedy Streets will be closed between Main Avenue and Stone Avenue, 17th Street will be closed between Fourth Avenue and Main Avenue, and 18th and 19th Streets will be closed between Ninth Avenue and Sixth Avenue.

Motorists driving in the downtown area may experience traffic delays associated with this event and several road improvement projects, including the Sun Link Tucson Streetcar project, so please plan accordingly. The traveling public should use caution when driving, bicycling or walking in this area. There are over 15,000 available parking spaces in the Downtown Tucson.
