Beginning Saturday, January 12, 2013, the intersections at Stone Avenue and Congress Street and Church Avenue and Congress Street will be closed. These closures are necessary to complete the installation of a water line, sewer line, electrical, curb, pole foundations, grading for track and rail installation. Work will also include the final paving of the roadway. This work is expected to be completed by late January. “The project team is excited to complete this stretch of work along Congress Street,” said Sun Link project manager Jesse Gutierrez. Gutierrez said that this stretch of roadway “has presented significant challenges to the contractor due to the aged condition of the underground utilities and the multiple underground infrastructure conflicts.”
