Road closures are in place on Tucson’s West side as Tucson Electric Power crews continue working to replace downed power poles and power lines. During this work, travel restrictions are in place.
Ironwood Hill Drive is closed from Shannon Road to Ironwood Ridge Drive, which is just west of Silverbell Road. Twelve power poles were knocked down during yesterday’s thunderstorms. Work to replace the power poles is expected to take several days to complete. Travel restrictions will be in place during this work.
The intersection of Anklam Road and Greasewood Road is closed to through travel. Crews anticipate completing the work on Wednesday evening, July 3, 2013, at which time the intersection will reopen. Electronic message boards and detour signs will be in place today to advise motorists of this closure.
Bicyclists and pedestrians should not bypass the road closures and for safety reasons not enter the work zones.
