Access to the Tucson Convention Center: SAHBA 2013 Spring Home & Patio Show
The Southern Arizona Home Builders Association (SAHBA) 2013 Spring Home & Patio Show will take place this weekend, beginning Friday April 5, 2013 through Sunday April 7, 2013 at the Tucson Convention Center (TCC). While a range of public and private construction projects continue in the downtown area, several roadways and intersections have recently re-opened, making access to the TCC and SAHBA’s free parking areas easy.
Police officers will be in the TCC area during peak event hours to assist the traveling public.
Cherry Avenue/22nd Street Improvements
On Monday, April 8, 2013, at about 7 a.m., work crews will begin modifying the intersection of Cherry Avenue/Cherrybell Stravenue and 22nd Street. Crews will be removing the existing traffic signals to accommodate planned detours along 22nd Street.
When the intersection work begins, left turns from Cherry Avenue/Cherrybell Stravenue to 22nd Street will be prohibited, as will through travel on Cherry Avenue/Cherrybell Stravenue at 22nd Street. These travel restrictions will be permanent.
Kino Parkway and 22nd Street Overpass Improvements
On Friday, April 5, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., eastbound travel on 22nd Street at Kino Parkway will be restricted to one through lane and one left turn lane to allow work crews to modify the intersection elevations. Westbound travel on 22nd Street at Kino Parkway will consist of two through lanes and one left turn lane. These restrictions will be in place for one day, within the times listed above.
On Sunday, April 7, 2013, westbound and eastbound travel on 22nd Street will be restricted to one lane in each direction beginning at 7 p.m. until 7 a.m.
2013 Pavement Preservation Program: Crack Seal and Patching
On Tuesday, April 9, 2013, Tucson Asphalt Contractors, Inc., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin crack sealing and patching at the following locations:
- Grant Road, Silverbell Road to Forbes Road
- Speedway Boulevard, Rosemont Boulevard to Wilmot Road
- Stone Avenue, Prince Road to Fort Lowell Road
- Stone Avenue, Broadway to 18th Street
- Swan Road, Rillito River to Grant Road
- Swan Road, Speedway to Golf Links Road

2013 Pavement Preservation Program: Crack Seal and Patching
On Monday, April 8, 2013, Granite Construction Co., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin crack sealing and patching at the following locations:
- Escalante Road, Kolb Road to Pantano Road
- Harrison Road, Magdalena Road to Golf Links Road
- 22nd Street and Harrison Road intersection
- 29th Street and Harrison Road intersection
- Old Spanish Trail and Harrison Road intersection
- Pantano Road, Research Loop to Escalante Road
- Tucson Boulevard, Irvington Road to Valencia Road

2013 Pavement Preservation Program: Milling and Paving
Southern Arizona Paving, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), has scheduled two more milling (removing asphalt) and repaving projects to the 2013 Pavement Preservation Program. The pre-lowering and raising of utility manhole covers will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Milling and repaving operations will take place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Friday at the following locations:
On Wednesday, April 3, 2013, crews will begin milling and repaving Golf Links Road from Craycroft Road to Wilmot Road.
Downtown Links: St. Mary's Road/Sixth Street -- I-10 to Church Avenue Roadway Improvements
This is a series of traffic alerts that will be issued throughout the construction of a portion of Downtown Links - the St. Mary’s Road/Sixth Street, I-10 to Church Avenue Improvement project. These alerts will announce construction, detour and street closure information as it affects traffic.
At 6 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2013, the contractor will begin construction of the 90-inch storm drain across the intersection of Granada Avenue and St. Mary's Road. North and southbound through traffic will not be permitted during this work.
Craycroft Road: Rillito River Bridge to Water Street Repaving Project
On Thursday, March 28, 2013, Granite Construction Company, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) will begin a repaving project to improve Craycroft Road between the Rillito River Bridge and Water Street. The work involves lowering existing water valve covers and manhole covers, patch paving, milling (removing asphalt), repaving, temporary striping and raising utility covers flush with the new asphalt.
To minimize the impact on the traveling public, crews will work at night from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Friday.
Golf Links Road: Wilmot Road to Kolb Road Repaving Project
On Monday, March 25, 2013, crews from Southern Arizona Paving, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin milling (removing asphalt) Golf Links Road between Wilmot Road and Kolb Road. Crews will mill and repave Golf Links Road this week, Monday through Thursday, March 28, 2013, as well as on Monday, April 1, 2013 and Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Work hours will be 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night.
During the work, two lanes of travel in each direction on Golf Links Road will be maintained.
2013 Pavement Preservation Program: Crack Seal and Patching

The work consists of crack sealing and patching where needed, prior to the application of the upcoming pavement microsurfacing.
