Nationally, July is the month for peak irrigation water demand. Here in Tucson, outdoor water use increases because daily temperatures rise sharply as we near the monsoon.
The Irrigation Association launched Smart Irrigation Month in 2005 to spotlight the practices and technologies to:
► use irrigation water more efficiently
► save money on utility bills
► lessen long-term impact on infrastructure
► protect a finite resource
► improve the look and vitality of plants and landscaping
