The WaterSmart Business Program helps business owners and managers set goals to conserve water, save money and contribute to a sustainable community.

A WaterSmart Business can achieve certification by:

  • Evaluating its water uses (conducting a self-audit)
  • Developing a Water Management Plan
  • Creating a water budget

WaterSmart Businesses receive public recognition, signs, variances from future water restrictions, and more. A business can also implement a plan to attain one of the levels below. Interested? Watch the PSA.

 

Copper Meet current codes
(retrofit old building up to standards)
Silver 10-20% reductions in water use
Start to implement Water Management Plan
Gold 20-30% reductions in water use
Fully implement Water Management Plan
Platinum 30% and above
Stay within water budget
